Musicals on The Golden Globes

The awards season for the film industry has begun, and this year several musicals and plays have been brought to the big screen, including “Hamilton,” “Avenue Q” and “The Lion King,” as well as a number of films. A number of Broadway stars have been nominated for their work over the past year, the Golden Globes announced Wednesday morning. The cast members each received a Tony for “One Man, Two Guvnors” (which won one of the three Tony Awards), which earned nominations for best musical, best actor in a musical, and best director. Streaming Disney’s Hamilton: The Prom (now on Netflix) was nominated, as was the New York Times’ Broadway production of “La La Land.” Here’s how some fared modern-day musicals on the Golden Globes.
