The most anticipated shows on Broadway in 2021st

There won’t be any Broadway until January, 2021st, and we miss it. We miss every single show on stage, and we miss those that were supposed to debut even more. That is why we anticipate them highly! Here are the most anticipated shows on Broadway in 2021st!

The Minutes

Actually, the previews of “The Minutes” began in February, 2020, but were abruptly canceled due to the COVID-19 outbreak.

Welcome to the small town of Big Cherry. The local city council has it all – greed, hypocrisy, and a lot of ambition. We get to meet a very strong cast in the roles of Superba, Mr. Oldfield, Mr. Blake, Mr. Breeding, and a few more.

Tracy Letts with director Anna D. Shapiro’s “The Minutes” is a satire of an average small town and its problems, and revealing how thing work in the bottom as well as on the top.

Plaza Suite

Matthew Broderick and Sarah Jessica Parker are just two of the reasons to see “Plaza Suite”. The popular play is scheduled to return on Broadway for previews in the end of March, 2021st.

The three-act play is all set in Suite 719 of New York City’s Plaza Hotel. First we have the not very happy family of Sam and Karen Nash. They are “followed” by movie producer Jesse Kiplinger and his old flame, suburban housewife Muriel Tate, who are, in turn, replaced by Roy and Norma Hubley, who are in town for the wedding of their daughter.

This is the first revival of Neil Simon’s famous comedy in more than 20 years, which makes it even more anticipated.

American Buffalo

Laurence Fishburne offers Sam Rockwell two pills. No, no, wrong production. American Buffalo first premiered on Broadway in 1977. The story revolves around Don, Teach, Bobby, Fletcher, and their planned robbery of a coin that Don believes he sold cheap to a client. The four of them create a huge mess during the planning, and when Bobby appears with a coin just like the one they plan to steal, things escalate. Eventually, it all ends well, despite a few punches.

American Buffalo is expected to return on stage in mid-April, 2021st.

The Music Man

Aka – Dancing with the badass. Jokes aside, there are few things as spectacular as Hugh Jackman on a Broadway stage. The Music Man is expected to debut at the Shubert theatre, and a date is yet to be announced.

Wolverine is to take the role of conman “Professor” Harold Hill, who is “famous” for forming boys marching bands then skipping town after taking payments for instruments and uniforms. This, along with his shenanigans are in the core of this cult Broadway classic.

Caroline, or Change

Yet another Broadway classic. Tony Kushner & Jeanine Tesori’s Tony Award’s story about the African-American maid Caroline, and the struggles of the Gellman family, as well as her own.

The show is in accord with some of the recent racial problems all over the US.

Honorable mentions

Of course, these five shows are just a margin of the shows we expect to see in early to mid-2021st. We expect some great music action with the likes of MJ, The Who’s Tommy, How I Learned To Drive.

Classics, superstars, new shows with smash-hit potential – these are just some of the reasons why those shows are topping the ranking of the most anticipated shows on Broadway in 2021st!

Broadway can be very, very funny!

Talk about revivals…
